Insurance Defense Attorney

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join our legal team in a hybrid capacity. This role involves managing a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, including personal injury, general liability, premises liability, and construction defect claims. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional litigation and case management skills, and a strong understanding of California civil procedure.

Responsibilities

Manage a full caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution; Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses; Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and witnesses; Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials (virtually or in person, as needed); Analyze complex legal and factual issues and develop case strategies; Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel; Negotiate settlements and provide recommendations for case resolution; Maintain accurate case records and billing in accordance with firm/client guidelines

Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; Active and in good standing with the California State Bar; 3+ years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience preferred; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong analytical and organizational abilities; Proficient in case management software and legal research tools; Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment
