Internal Audit Officer

Interwood is looking for an Internal Audit Officer for Islamabad / RWP office (DHA). The Internal Audit Officer is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and governance processes within the organization. This role involves auditing financial and operational processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies, statutory regulations, and identifying areas for process improvement and cost efficiency in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and governance processes; Auditing financial and operational processes; Ensuring compliance with internal policies, statutory regulations, and industry best practices; Identifying areas for process improvement and cost efficiency in a manufacturing environment; Assisting in developing annual audit plans; Conducting internal audits across departments; Performing audit fieldwork including walkthroughs, testing controls, data analysis, and transaction reviews; Preparing comprehensive audit reports with findings and recommendations; Tracking and monitoring the implementation of audit recommendations; Conducting follow-up audits; Collaborating with cross-functional teams on internal controls; Participating in fraud investigations and special assignments

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Minimum 3–5 years of relevant internal audit experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment; Strong knowledge of internal auditing standards (e.g., IIA standards), internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO), and risk management practices

Nice to have

Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent; Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analytics tools
