Internship MEMS Sensor Characterization and Testing

Robert Bosch Sp. z o.o. Kusterdingen, Deutschland
Vollzeit Arbeit vor Ort

Veröffentlichungsdatum: 04.09.2026

Bosch Sensortec GmbH develops and markets key technologies in consumer electronics – micro-electro-mechanical sensors (MEMS), solutions and systems for smartphone applications, tablets, video game consoles, wearables, and the Internet of things. The sensors enable devices to recognize their surroundings and to transmit the data collected. MEMS are therefore part of the foundation for a networked world. Bosch Sensortec GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH.

The Bosch Sensortec GmbH is looking forward to your application!

We are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on student who is interested in an internship in the field of MEMS sensor characterization and testing. In this position, you will support the characterization and validation of a novel optical MEMS sensor under development for future consumer electronics applications, working in a multidisciplinary laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

During your internship, you will perform characterization of MEMS sensors using established laboratory test setups with electrical readout.; You will support characterization activities by conducting measurements, documenting experimental procedures and results, and contributing to the analysis and discussion of measurement data.; Furthermore, you will carry out robustness testing of MEMS devices and contribute to the continuous improvement of characterization methods and laboratory workflows.; Depending on project needs, you will also contribute to optical characterization tasks, including operating optical measurement setups, aligning optical paths, and performing spectroscopic measurements.; Finally, you will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary development team and gain practical experience in sensor characterization for future consumer electronics applications.

Requirements

Education: studies in the field of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Microsystems Engineering, Physics, Optics, Photonics or comparable; Experience and Knowledge: confident use of MS Office, experience with electrical measurements and data analysis is an advantage, hands-on experience with optical laboratory setups (e.g. optical alignment, spectroscopic measurements, or optical instrumentation) is considered a strong plus, basic programming skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW) and good knowledge of MS Excel are beneficial; Personality and Working Practice: you are a reliable, proactive, and collaborative person who enjoys hands-on experimental work, works independently, and appreciates achieving goals together within an interdisciplinary team; Work Routine: your on-site presence is required (working primarily in the laboratory); Enthusiasm: interest in laboratory-based experimental work and sensor characterization; Languages: fluent in English, German is an advantage
