Responsibilities

Possess a complete understanding of the menus and syllabus; Ensure all food is prepared according to the recipes and standards specified by the Chef and Chef de Parties; Delegate and assign duties to Cooks Assistants to ensure a consistently high level of productivity; Contribute ideas to Seasonal menu development and assist in the creation of Fresh Sheet items, Tasting Menu items etc; Demonstrate the importance of food and labour cost; Monitor and communicate Food Safe Standards to ensure all food is properly stored, labeled and rotated; Promote professional work habits and contribute to a maintaining a safe and positive environment; Other duties assigned

Requirements

Journeyperson’s papers, Red Seal or equivalents; A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hotel or kitchen of comparable size and must be within last 5 years (recent experience); Completely fluent English language and communication skills, both written and verbal; Successful completion of practical cooking test; Must hold a Food safe certificate; Excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; Strong artistic skills in food presentation; High level of responsibility and commitment; Team player with proven success in relationship building; Strong leadership and motivational skills and ability to effectively train and develop co-workers; Commitment to providing excellent service and exceeding guests' expectations; Available to work flexible shifts; Physically capable of:; Continuous standing for extended periods of time; Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50lbs; Working in hot and cold environments
