Journeyman Electrician

Supports the 153d Airlift Wing’s facilities, including 17 main habitable buildings totaling 400,000 square feet of heated space. To maintain, repair, inspect, and upgrade electrical distribution, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems, and provide critical protection of C-130 aircraft and building occupants.

Responsibilities

Supports the 153d Airlift Wing's facilities, including 17 main habitable buildings totaling 400,000 square feet of heated space; Maintains, repairs, inspects, and upgrades electrical distribution, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems; Provides critical protection of C-130 aircraft and building occupants; Maintains electrical components through preventative maintenance; Installs new power and lighting circuits, generator and automatic switchgear systems; Monitors, programs, and maintains fire alarm system; Maintains lightning protection systems (LPS); Reviews electrical projects, blueprints, and submittals; Assists other trades to complete multi-trade tasks; Participates in snow removal as required; Must acquire and maintain a security clearance

Requirements

Journeyman's Electrician License; Education as required by the licensing board; Valid Wyoming driver's license; Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; Knowledge of electrical principles and practices for maintaining a functioning electrical system including high voltage and low-voltage electrical systems; Knowledge of specialized systems such as fire alarms and security systems; Ability to work with mechanical systems such as generators, controls, and motors; Ability to troubleshoot most electrical systems in a timely manner; Knowledge of the electrical trade's tools, materials, methods, and practices; Ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces; Ability to work in various outdoor conditions (snow, rain, wind, dust, and dirt); Travel as required; Must be an essential personnel member able to report to base on short notice for emergency maintenance and snow removal; Computer knowledge of iEMS, Builder, Word, Excel, time sheets, and ordering parts
