Contract type: Full time – 37.5 hrs per week

Working hours: 11:30AM - 7:30PM

Hourly Rate: £13.45 per hour

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join the kitchen team at New hall school. This is a great opportunity to play a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment in a supportive, food-led Education setting.

You will be joining Holroyd Howe, one of the UK’s leading contract caterers, providing fresh innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges. We are a team of experienced professionals who tailor our catering service provision specifically to suit children of all ages in order to meet the bespoke requirements of each school.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils; Wash dishes, pots, pans, and catering equipment; Support chefs and kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks when required; Ensure waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed; Assist with deliveries and stock storage; Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health & safety compliance; Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe at all times; Work as part of a team to ensure smooth daily service (breakfast, lunch, dinner where applicable

Requirements

Ability to work well as part of a team; Strong work ethic and positive attitude; Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Good understanding of basic hygiene and cleanliness standards

Nice to have

Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment (KP, catering assistant, or similar role); Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to complete training); Experience working in contract catering, education, or hospitality settings
