Lab Compounder

Osmo is seeking a Compounder to accurately measure, weigh, and mix raw materials and essential oils according to formulas and batch sheets in our sample lab. This is a craft, not just a process: precision, real understanding of raw material characteristics, and developing sensory judgment are what separate a successful sample lab compounder from someone just following steps.

Responsibilities

Fragrance Compounding: Accurately measure, weigh, and mix raw materials and essential oils according to formulas and batch sheets; Verify Materials & Formulas: Check materials against specifications and batch sheets before use, and flag discrepancies before they become a downstream problem; Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and clean mixing tanks, scales, pumps, and other production equipment while following SOPs; Safety & Compliance: Follow all company safety protocols, including hazardous material handling and PPE; Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring raw material stock levels using Osmo's inventory system, and notify supervisors of shortages; Collaboration: Work closely with quality control and production teams to ensure consistency and efficiency

Requirements

2-5 years of hands-on sample lab compounding experience within fragrance or flavor manufacturing; Extreme attention to detail and accuracy measuring, weighing, and blending raw materials; Able to follow written formulas and instructions precisely; Strong organizational and multitasking skills; Able to work in a fast-paced production environment; Able to lift 25 lbs

Nice to have

Understand the order of addition for certain raw materials and the reasons behind it; Ability to distinguish fragrance notes; Prior experience with inventory or production tracking systems, or material-handling equipment certification (e.g. forklift)
