Lab Technical Coordinator Microbiology and Send Outs-Full-time Days

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, position located at Delnor Hospital in Geneva. The Lab Technical Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. Under the direction of the manager, the Lab TC has the authority and accountability for facilitating the delivery of quality service for a designated section. The Lab TC works with pathologists and physician-specialists to coordinate the assessment, the development and the implementation of technology/testing in the laboratory and oversee daily operations.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and oversees daily laboratory section operations with pathologists and physician-specialists; Reviews and verifies accuracy of results, quality control (QC) records and quality assurance (QA) parameters; Coordinates and monitors corrective action; Develops SOPs and maintains document control; Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, TJC, CAP, AABB, and hospital regulations, policies and procedures; Participates in planning and maintenance of the laboratory information system (LIS); Investigates and resolves patient, technical and workflow problems; Oversees inventory system and supply requests in accordance with section budget; Coordinates and monitors section staffing, scheduling, training, competency and evaluation; Performs complex testing at the bench with documented training and competency; Assures billing for services is accurate, timely and compliant; Assists in preparation and monitoring of expense/revenue budgets; Works with Medical Directors on goals, budgets, new programs and technical and operational issues; Coordinates section technical in-service programs and proficiency testing; Other Duties as Assigned

Requirements

BS degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science or medical technology; Minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience including professional experience in a technical specialty specific to the role; MLS/BB/C/CG/CT/H/HTL/I/M/MB ASCP Board of Registry certification within 1 year of hire
