Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with 3D printing technology, plasma cutting, and other fabrication equipment. The candidate should have a strong ability to monitor testing equipment, read schematics, and conduct product testing. This role involves collaborating with engineers and designers to produce high-quality prototypes and ensure product reliability.

Responsibilities

Conduct testing on air compressors following established procedures and protocols; Perform teardowns of air compressor components for inspection and analysis; Document findings accurately and thoroughly in test result reports; Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to guide product development and testing; Develop and optimize 3D printing parameters and plasma cutting settings for various materials; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and specifications; Set up lathe, mill, and other fabrication equipment to produce prototype parts with precision; Work closely with NPD engineers to understand design requirements and provide input on manufacturability and feasibility; Troubleshoot issues that may arise during prototyping and/or teardown inspection and propose effective solutions; Maintain a safe and organized work environment in the machine shop; Adhere to and enforce safety guidelines in laboratory and machine shop area; Perform preventative maintenance and repair of lab and machine shop equipment

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; Hands-on experience with 3D printing technology, plasma cutting, and other fabrication equipment; Strong ability to monitor testing equipment, read schematics, and conduct product testing

Nice to have

Some secondary schooling; Experience with product testing methodologies; Knowledge of electronics and circuitry; Experience in fabrication; Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to mechanical, electrical, and testing processes; Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation; Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail; Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; Proven experience with plasma cutting machine and other pieces of equipment used in fabrication; Familiarity with materials used in welding, punching, forming, and 3D printing
