Lead Engineer

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day support and guidance to the engineering team in their area; Plan and monitor maintenance tasks and work with the Scheduler for the area to ensure effective and profitable use of engineering resource; Ensure performance and service are in line with compliance and monthly schedules; Respond to customer needs, complaints, and concerns with urgency; Complete toolbox talks with direct reports and provide clear records to the compliance team; Be available for site surveys and installation handovers; Organise, maintain and communicate an effective call-out rota for the area; Responsible for minor works within the area; Assist the Regional Service Manager in the management of the engineering team; Deputise for the Regional Service Manager during sickness and holidays; Support engineers in stock control and further action management; Attend and assist with troublesome sites and complaints; Technically support DRS and the Sales Team with quotations; Initial planning of PPM on large/complex sites; Assist in the delivery of small bespoke projects and ensure on-time delivery.

Requirements

Positive attitude; excellent communication skills; professional conduct; ability to work independently and as part of a team; At least 5 years' experience as an accomplished multi-disciplined Fire & Security Engineer; A full UK Driving Licence - mandatory; Flexibility to travel and be part of an on-call rota.

Nice to have

Technical background in the electrical/electronic industry; Experience in front-line customer service.
