Lead Product Designer

Responsibilities

Own a domain, a product line's design, or a system others depend on; Drive outcomes across the domain, not a single surface - tie design to revenue, retention and cost, and to outcomes like trust and operational efficiency; Set the quality bar for a group of designers - raise it by shipping and by coaching; Take line management of designers, where the team needs it - develop people without leaving the craft

Requirements

Typically 8 years or more in product design, with a track record of owning a domain, building systems others depend on, and developing other designers; Problem definition - shape problem definition across a domain, turn ambiguity into a plan the team can run; Visual craft (non-negotiable) - set paradigms and standards the team calibrates to, motion and micro-interactions included; Accessibility - set the domain's bar, compliance is the floor not the target; Systems thinking - build design systems, information architecture, shared surfaces across mobile and emerging platforms like AI interfaces; Product and commercial sense - connect design to the numbers that move the business, bring the patient voice into the room and the commercial case with it; Communication - align people with clear writing, sharp critique, opinions others can act on; Working in the open - build conditions for critique over presentation, rough work shared safely, feedback; Advanced prototyping - test real ideas in real code, fast; Redesign how your team works with AI; know where AI does not belong; expose weak operating models and fix them; Work end to end from problem definition and research to information architecture and UX writing; Set the research and experimentation bar for your domain; Make others better at validation, testing and reading results honestly; Raise the writing bar in regulated health; Set the bar for problem definition on the hardest, most ambiguous problems; Portfolio demonstrating problem solving that moved a commercial lever across a broader product area, craft, polish and care, how you elevated people around you and built an inclusive team culture, and how AI reshaped the way your team worked; Applications without a portfolio will not be considered; Patient-first mindset; Collaborative creation; Curiosity
