Lead Product Manager

Versaterm is a PE-backed, high-growth SaaS company building an integrated platform across the public safety ecosystem. The Lead Product Manager plays a key strategic role in shaping mission-critical systems for Police, Fire, and EMS, providing leadership across multiple products, combining strategic foresight with hands-on execution. This role partners with Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, and Partner Success and leads modernization across CAD/RMS portfolios, improving usability, ensuring compliance, and driving seamless integration within the Versaterm ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Define and communicate a multi-year strategic vision spanning multiple products; Drive portfolio-level innovation and advise on strategic direction; Influence enterprise priorities and investment decisions; Leverage market intelligence, win/loss analysis, and financial insights to shape strategy; Establish pricing strategies, define product positioning and messaging; Translate organizational strategy into actionable product roadmaps; Drive roadmap cohesion across portfolio; Use data-driven insights, market analysis, and customer feedback to guide prioritization; Partner with Engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver complex releases; Lead strategic initiatives to modernize user experience; Champion adoption of emerging technologies like AI and analytics; Lead experimentation and validation through MVPs and pilots; Mentor and coach product team members; Represent product organization in executive forums; Drive alignment across departments; Represent product portfolio externally with customers and partners; Enable cross-functional readiness for major initiatives; Foster collaboration and influence without authority

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; 10+ years of product management experience in enterprise SaaS or public safety software, defining strategy and driving execution across multiple product teams or domains; Hands-on experience using AI to speed up your own work and to drive faster development and delivery outcomes, in addition to AI product knowledge; Proven ability to deliver complex, cross-functional software initiatives with measurable business impact; Leadership in modernization initiatives, including UI redesign or integration of emerging technologies; Experience with business cases, pricing strategies and P&Ls; Deep expertise in product management methodologies, Agile frameworks, and product discovery techniques; Excellent communication and influencing skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders; Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing other product professionals; Compliance with FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy; successful completion of comprehensive fingerprint-based background check; obtaining and maintaining all required security clearances as condition of employment

Nice to have

MBA or advanced degree preferred; Experience with tools like Aha!, JIRA, and Confluence; Familiarity with software engineering concepts such as APIs, databases, and cloud platforms; Background in public safety software (e.g., CAD, RMS, or Analytics); Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent certification
