Maintenance Electrician

Shift Electrician position is made up of numerous classes, based upon experience and knowledge. One can advance upward as knowledge of both machinery and electrical grows. All advancement will be merit driven. This is a 3rd Shift position. Starting wage is based on skill and experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise and assist other electricians or General Maintenance personnel if required; Oversees and delegates all electrical inspections and infrared thermography; Assists Maintenance Manager in finding suitable replacement electrical components; Acts as goodwill ambassador between Maintenance and Production; Warns management of upcoming issues or concerns; Trains new personnel when required; Assesses those under supervision as to abilities and determines if additional training is needed; Offers diagnosis and input to Senior Controls Engineer or Electrical/Automation Projects Engineer; Understands the importance of safety for personnel and machine

Requirements

Completion of basic courses in AC/DC circuits, electrical schematic reading, technical math, basic programmable logic controllers; Minimum of 1-1/2 years of experience within an industrial maintenance/repair environment; Ability to demonstrate basic troubleshooting and repair abilities with minimal assistance; Ability to use basic hand/power tools, general shop equipment (drill press, band saw), volt-ohm meter, basic computer skills; Basic understanding of safety regulations (confined space, lockout/tagout, fall prevention, electrical safety); Ability to describe the hazards of working with energized equipment; Proficiency in oscilloscope, ammeters, megger, conduit bender, pipe threader, tap/dies; Ability to perform conversions and calculations; Ability to discuss requirements for grounding; Ability to use computers, technical manuals, and schematics/drawings to determine correct repair parts and locate in parts system; Completion of courses in variable speed drives, electric motor controls, tech physics, national electric code; 1 year as Class D electrician or equivalent experience in similar industrial environment; Ability to demonstrate troubleshooting and repair abilities with little or no assistance; Ability to calculate loads and determine appropriate protection, conductors, and overloads; Ability to lay out conduit and panels; Ability to align motors with dial indicator or laser alignment set; Ability to troubleshoot PLC's using RSLogix 5, 500, 5000 and Automation Direct Productivity Series; Completion of courses in fluid power principles, industrial and commercial wiring, basic welding; 1 year as Class C electrician or equivalent experience; Ability to perform trending and drive analysis using appropriate software; Ability to perform basic program modifications; Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems; Ability to document modifications/changes to drawings (redline); Ability to pass basic welding exam; 1 year as Class B electrician or equivalent experience; Ability to analyze electronic circuits and explain their purpose and function; Ability to troubleshoot programming and network problems; Ability to document troubleshooting progress and write reports; Ability to use computer and basic office software; 1 year as Class A electrician or equivalent experience; Ability to supervise and assist other electricians or General Maintenance personnel if required; Ability to oversee and delegate all electrical inspections and infrared thermography; Ability to assist Maintenance Manager in finding suitable replacement electrical components; Ability to act as goodwill ambassador between Maintenance and Production; Ability to warn management of upcoming issues or concerns; Ability to train new personnel when required; Ability to assess those under supervision and determine if additional training is needed; Ability to offer diagnosis and input to Senior Controls Engineer or Electrical/Automation Projects Engineer
