Mammography Technologist

Responsibilities

Perform screening and diagnostic mammography, including tomosynthesis, in compliance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols; Ensure accurate positioning, optimal compression, and image quality; Select exposure parameters and apply ALARA principles; Verify patient identity, review medical history, and explain procedures clearly; Maintain thorough documentation, precise image labeling, and QA work for facility compliance and accreditation; Manage own workflow in a busy outpatient environment; keep rooms ready, perform routine quality assurance, and maintain equipment; Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to students rotating through

Requirements

ARRT certification in Radiography (R); ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M); Valid state radiologic technologist license current (where applicable); Current BLS certification; MQSA compliant — 15 breast CEUs every 3 years maintained; Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams); Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current; Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS; Strong patient communication skills; Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently
