Material Handler II

This job is responsible for operating a forklift for the purpose of locating, picking, staging and loading customer orders. The individual is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and radio frequency bar code equipment and may also require to perform pick and pack duties along with loading and unloading trucks from suppliers. This position will be the 9 am to 5 pm position Monday - Friday. They will be strictly accountable and responsible for recording all product transactions and product movements.

Responsibilities

Operating a forklift for the purpose of locating, picking, staging and loading customer orders; Recording all product transactions and product movements; Picking orders properly and moving to staging area; Recording all transactions with the RF gun to proper location; Properly packaging all orders for secure transportation to final location; Unloading and loading transfer trailers and supplier shipments; Assisting in Pick and Pack area to pull orders whenever needed; Keeping warehouse and storage areas neat and clean, including compactor and dumpster area; Maintaining proper inventory by using correct scanning procedures; Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

1-3 years' forklift experience; 1-3 years' experience in loading and unloading trucks; Experience in a fast pace manufacturing/shipping environment; Ability to operate computers and radio frequency bar code equipment; Good communication skills; Team oriented and able to work independently; Knowledge in the use of scanning guns; Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends if needed; Flexible on working hours during heavy business days; Ability to regularly drive a forklift; Ability to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; Ability to move product up to 12 foot in length; Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
