Mechanical Engineer, Junior

KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced, and highly motivated Mechanical Engineer, Junior, to join our team. This position is contingent upon contract award. This position is onsite in Newport, Rhode Island. This position will research, develop, design, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices. This work supports power-producing machines such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, and steam and gas turbines. This position will also develop power-using machines such as refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, machine tools, material handling systems, elevators and escalators, industrial production equipment, and robots used in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports; Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements; Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications, or environmental regulations; Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information; Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions; Utilize computers to assist in efficiently performing computations, and by permitting the modeling and simulation of new designs as well as facilitating changes to existing designs; Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) for design data processing and for turning the design into a product
