Medical Assistant (MA) - Infusion Cancer Clinic (PRN)

Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. Medical Assistants must adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. They are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion during all interactions.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and support their transition into care; Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings; Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures; Administer medications and vaccines as directed; Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing; Document care accurately in the electronic health record; Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care; Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks vital to patient care; Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required; Certified/registered Medical Assistant (MA); 2+ years of medical assistant experience; Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday; Ability to lift and support 35 pounds; Ability to push/pull with 30 lbs of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present; Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch, with fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures; Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines; Ability to perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed; Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions; Physical Abilities Testing may be required
