Provides respiratory care to patients as assigned by supervisors and given on the physician's order.

Responsibilities

Provides respiratory care to patients as assigned by supervisors and given on the physician's order; Administers medically prescribed medications; Performs therapeutic modalities including IS, HHN, ventilator therapy for neonates, oxygen delivery devices, surfactant administration, flutter devices and metered dose inhalers; Performs arterial punctures using radial and brachial sites independently; Performs capillary gases; Serves as member of code team and performs CPR; Performs artificial airway care; Maintains blood gas analyzers; Sets up and maintains heliox system and oxygen devices; Sets up, monitors and troubleshoots mechanical ventilators; Interprets chest x-rays for endotracheal tube placement; Maintains accurate records and documents clinical notes; Member of neonatal transport team

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Care; RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist; RCL - Respiratory Care License; BLS - Basic Life Support; NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program; PALS or ENPC - Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course

Nice to have

2 years experience in NICU/SCN/Pediatric setting; ACLS - Advance Cardiac Life Support; Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty exam
