Office Practice Leader - Design Practice

Your role is focused on providing strategic leadership, specifically developing, and leading a high-performance, diverse, and inclusive team for the Toronto office of CannonDesign to achieve growth and outstanding top line results.

Responsibilities

Providing strategic leadership, specifically developing and leading a high-performance, diverse, and inclusive team for the Toronto office to achieve growth and outstanding top-line results; Developing and implementing a business plan for the office in concert with a regional leadership team; Acting as a leading ambassador of the brand, demonstrating how Living-Centered Design ethos comes to life; Leading office growth through development of new business opportunities to achieve a minimum 10% growth year over year; Leading strategy development and execution to advance entrepreneurial opportunities, innovative market solutions, and impactful design solutions; Elevating CannonDesign’s reputation in the community and championing Living-Centered Design; Fostering a design-focused culture and advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion; Growing the team through acquisition of Market and Client Leaders and staff supporting project delivery; Implementing the annual business plan and engaging Market and Client Leaders; Partnering with leaders to grow the business with a personal top-line success goal of $2.0M per year; Identifying, assessing, and evaluating Client Leaders and championing client engagement processes; Championing mentorship, growth, and professional development of future leaders; Partnering with Regional Practice Directors on project management, risk management, process improvement, and office profitability; Representing the office on regional leadership team and firm-wide meetings; Communicating outcomes and fostering collaboration

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; 15 years’ minimum experience with a proven track record of business development success and top-line growth; Communicates effectively; energizes, inspires, motivates, and develops high-performing accountable teams; Champions our Living-Centered Design ethos; Champions an ethical culture; Demonstrates ownership and accountability; Champions collaboration, has a team mindset, and shows fairness in actions and decisions putting the Firm first; Champions entrepreneurial behavior and is open to new ideas, innovative concepts, and solutions; Demonstrates sound judgement; Demonstrates sound approach regarding risk management and mitigation; Business acumen and proven ability to execute strategy; Some travel is required
