Optical Assistant

This position is 6 month fixed term contract for Roscommon and surrounding counties. The role involves Eye Photography, used to identify the damage to the retina that can be caused by complications of Diabetes. Experience is not essential. The role involves travelling to and from health centres and clinic locations using a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

Eye Photography to identify retinal damage caused by complications of Diabetes; Travelling to and from health centres and clinic locations using a company vehicle; Working as part of the national programme alongside Senior Diabetic Retinal Technicians and Team Leader

Requirements

Full clean Irish driving licence; Passion for customer care and positive patient outcomes; IT literacy (word processing, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office); Initiative and ability to prioritise tasks; Problem-solving skills; Strong work ethic and proactive approach; Excellent communication skills at all levels; Right to work and travel within the EU; Satisfactory vetting and reference checks; Garda Vetting may be required
