Outreach Athletic Trainer, Elkin High School

Responsibilities

Provide athletic training services to collegiate and/or professional sport events; Provide acute medical care to athletes 'on the field' during practices or sporting events; Provide clinical athletic training services in local orthopedic clinics; Perform clinical injury evaluation and assessment; Determine appropriate therapeutic treatment and provides rehabilitation, reconditioning strategies, taping/wrapping and bracing; Maintain daily records of treatment logs, injury reports, doctor's referrals, and medical inventory management; Complete set-up of all practice and games including medical supplies; Ensure an Emergency Action Plan for each venue; Mentor and manage on-site education of students; Facilitates patient entry into healthcare system; Maintain training on concussion education, management, and care

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in athletic training from a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) program; Current athletic training certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC); Currently licensed or eligible for applicable state license in Athletic Training within 30 days of hire; Ability to complete American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS), including CPR and AED training within 30 days of hire
