Part-Time SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Coordinator to join our welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Shoreham-by-Sea. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large, successful three-form entry school where inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. As SENCO, you will lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school, supporting pupils with a wide range of needs and ensuring they receive the highest quality support and intervention.

Responsibilities

Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school; Identifying and supporting pupils with additional needs; Working closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies; Monitoring progress and ensuring effective provision is in place; Supporting staff through advice, training, and coaching; Managing Annual Reviews and EHCP processes; Ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and best practice is embedded throughout the school

Requirements

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS); Have previous SENCO experience within a primary school setting; Hold the NASENCO qualification or are willing to work towards it; Have an excellent understanding of the SEND Code of Practice; Are passionate about inclusion and achieving positive outcomes for all children; Have strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills; Enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
