Pastry Chef

We are looking for a leader and someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our Culinary team as a Pastry Chef. This individual must have extensive experience working in a high-volume professional kitchen and be a college graduate in the culinary arts. This individual must be creative, motivated, and a passionate hands-on leader in the kitchen!

Responsibilities

Assist with planning and execution of daily production, preparation, and presentation of all pastry items for the hotel; Oversee all production of pastry goods; Produce accurate quantities of food following recipes and philosophies of Stonewall Resort; Minimize waste and use proper food rotation principles; Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors; Supervise design, decoration, and plating of pastries and desserts for Banquet Service and all Restaurant Outlets; Train and lead pastry employees in proper preparation and presentation of menu items, equipment and machine safety; Review menus and coordinate with Executive Chef to update menus including recipes, menu specifications, and production forecasts; Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation

Requirements

Extensive experience working in a high-volume professional kitchen; College graduate in the culinary arts; Strong organizational and analytical skills; Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment; High School Diploma or equivalent; At least 2 years of pastry experience in a professional kitchen in a high-volume operation; Ability to work flexible hours; May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Nice to have

Graduate of an Apprenticeship or Culinary School preferred but not required; Proven track record of work with creative menus reflecting seasonal availability based on the concept of the restaurant
