Patient Care Associate - ICU/CCU - FT - Nights- MHW

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.

Responsibilities

Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly; Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output; Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff; Assists with transporting patients, as needed; Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating

Requirements

No degree required; BLS certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross; Three (3) months of patient care experience or completion of formal training program; EKG and phlebotomy competencies required within six (6) months of hire; Critical thinking skills; Decisive judgment; Ability to work with minimal supervision; Ability to work in a stressful environment
