Patient Care Associate -Surgical/Telemetry-FT- Days -MHW

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities; Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly; Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating; Assist with transporting patients, as needed; Additional duties as assigned; Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including but not limited to: monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output; Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff

Requirements

No Degree or any other education earned (Required); BLS American Heart E-Card - American Heart Association; BLS American Heart RQI E-Card - American Heart Association; BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard - American Heart Association; BLS Certification Grace - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential; BLS Cert Red Cross - Red Cross; Three (3) months of patient care experience demonstrating ability to perform basic patient care or certification of completion from formal training program; EKG and phlebotomy competencies required within six (6) months of hire date; Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision; Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action; Accountability; Customer Service; Organization Skills; Patient and Family Centered Care; Patient Safety - Ancillary/Support; Problem Solving; Responding to Change; Standards of Behavior
