Person in Charge (Social Care Leader)

As we continue to expand to provide additional services to meet the needs of those we care for, we currently wish to appoint a Person in Charge, based in Swinford Co Mayo. As Person in Charge in our Orchard Community Care home in Mayo, you will play a crucial role in providing the highest possible standards of person centred care to the people we support. You will be committed to our Values of Advocacy, Excellence, Integrity, Collaboration and Human Rights & be committed to ensuring compliance with the Department of Health Regulations and HIQA Standards in residential disability settings.

Responsibilities

Take the lead on shift when on duty in the service; Participate in the provision of direct care to individuals, following established care plans, protocols, and procedures; Assist in assessing the needs of individuals under care and developing individualised care plans; Ensure the implementation of appropriate care interventions and monitor the progress and outcomes of care; Assist in training and orienting new care team members; Assist in organising and facilitating training programs and workshops for the team; Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of care plans, assessments, and other relevant records; Monitor and ensure the completion of required documentation by team members; Assist in implementing quality improvement initiatives; Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure adherence to quality standards; Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the team

Requirements

A minimum of 3 years in a management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care; A relevant degree (minimum level 7) in Social or Health Care; Level 6 Management qualification; A proven track record of managing a residential service which meets quality, regulatory/legislative requirements; Full current driving license with full eligibility to drive in Ireland, and access to a vehicle; Eligible to live and work in Ireland without restriction
