Personal Care Assistant

Personal Care Assistant (PA) for an 11-year-old boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory processing disorder, and significant learning disabilities. Largely non-verbal; support includes social and leisure activities, accessing the community, personal care including continence care, and assistance with independence skills. 5 hours/week term time and 10 hours/week school holidays at £14.67/hr in Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Patient, calm and understanding approach; Able to build trust at child's pace; Proactive – suggest activities and outings; Confident working independently; Comfortable supporting with personal care

Nice to have

Driver preferred with own car; Experience with ASD or complex needs preferred; Safeguarding; Autism awareness; First Aid; Moving & handling; Understanding behaviours of concern
