Physician - OB Hospitalist

Allegheny Health Network’s (AHN) Department of OB/Gyn is seeking a full-time Laborist (OB Hospitalist) to join a collaborative, patient-centered team in Pittsburgh. Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care to obstetrical and gynecological patients in the hospital setting; Manage labor and delivery, including vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections; Triage patients and manage admissions, transfers, and inpatient evaluations; Evaluate and manage obstetrical emergencies, including postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia, eclampsia; Evaluate and manage gynecological emergencies, including ectopic pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian torsion; Provide consultation services to other medical specialties within the hospital; Perform gynecological surgeries as needed, based on training and experience; Provide postpartum care and education to new mothers; Collaborate with nurses, midwives, and other healthcare team members to provide coordinated, comprehensive patient care; Communicate effectively with referring physicians and outside providers; Maintain accurate and complete medical records; Provide 24/7 in-house coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as assigned; Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs; Participate in departmental meetings and continuing medical education activities; Adhere to hospital policies and procedures; Supervise and teach medical students and residents, as needed; Assist with resident education and training

Requirements

Completion of ACGME approved Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency; Board Eligible/Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology; Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO); Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania prior to employment
