Portable Metrology Engineer

Responsibilities

Conduct inspection and dimensional report generation utilizing laser trackers, Faro arms and high volume scanners; Generating detailed inspection reports for Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality; Conducting laser inspections of new design installations for integration into manufacturing; Performing inspection tasks for new designs and design changes; Interfacing with Design Engineering, Program Management, Quality, and Manufacturing to address product issues; Creating and delivering quality inspection plans and reports that provide data to Manufacturing and customers; Reviewing inspection data and assisting in the development preventative action plans; Retrieving quality data and communicating results and statuses to internal and external customers

Requirements

Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing; Experience using PolyWorks software; Experience using Portable CMM; Experience using Laser Tracker; Experience using High Volume Scanner (ex. Surphaser); 4 year technical degree or relevant experience; Must be a US Citizen

Nice to have

Engineering experience with relevant applications in a defense environment; Specialized technical knowledge of relevant military and commercial design standards; Knowledge of mechanical design; Knowledge of assembly processes; Experience with PTC Creo, SolidWorks or other modeling software
