Pre-Construction Job Coordinator / Estimator (Residential - high end)

Full-time, 100% remote position (8 hours per day / 40 hours per week, Pacific Time Zone) with a mid-to-high-end residential remodeling and renovation company based in Bend, Oregon. The role involves crunching numbers, reading project details, and developing accurate, comprehensive cost estimates for intricate, high-budget residential renovations, while coordinating pre-construction activities so projects start strong. Salary is $2,000 to $2,500 USD per month, all-inclusive, based on depth of residential experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed construction estimates using Buildertrend and other industry-standard estimating tools; Coordinate pre-construction activities including site assessments, material take-offs, subcontractor bidding, and scope clarification; Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members to gather accurate project information; Review drawings, contracts, specifications, and bid documents to identify scope gaps, risks, missing information, and value-engineering opportunities; Assist in building project schedules in Buildertrend to ensure pre-construction milestones are completed on time; Maintain clean, accurate, and organized records of bids, proposals, contracts, vendor pricing, and project documentation; Communicate clearly and proactively with internal teams on estimate status, open items, risks, deadlines, and next steps; Support a smooth handoff from pre-construction to production

Requirements

Proven experience in construction estimating, project coordination, or pre-construction support; Familiarity with Buildertrend or similar construction management software; Strong understanding of construction documents, scopes of work, scheduling, contracts, and site coordination; Experience working effectively with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, clients, or field teams; Exceptional organizational ability with a track record of managing multiple projects or estimates simultaneously; Deep residential expertise (commercial-only estimators will not be a fit)
