Production Associate 2 - Saw Operator

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Saw Operator is responsible for using a computerized cutting system, the Saw Operator cuts vinyl to the exact dimensions of the parts needed for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.

Responsibilities

Operation of various hand tools to manually construct window units; Lift and move vinyl lineals from the storage area to saw workstation.; Movement of carts in and out of production workstations.; Sort and select the correct batch to process based on line’s schedule flow report.; Operate safely equipment with computerized system.; Loading vinyl components into the production carts.; Place scrap in the corresponding barrel (as per 5S process).; Maintain correct parts drops inventory listed in the system present in the drop bin location?; Ensures overall quality of work produced by performing quality audits and engaging in problem solving activities to resolve issues of concern.; Audit quality check of cut parts.; Performs 5S & housekeeping as expected. During line stoppages, performs downtime duties assigned to this workstation.

Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and stand for duration of entire shift.; Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within line/complex.; Ability to measure lengths accurately to 1/32”; Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Able to convert fractions to decimals.; Ability to read and understand schedule’s workflow report, and written instructions.; Capable of using computerized equipment; Ability to move production carts.; Be able to recognize part by shape and color.; 1 - 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
