Quality Engineer

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Engineering Department based in Kinston, NC. Our Engineers have the privilege of working on complex, highly engineered machines and are involved at all stages of the aircraft life cycle, from product development to manufacturing and direct support to our airline customers. To implement and maintain the Company Quality System and to ensure product and process quality/integrity meets appropriate regulatory/customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Develops processes, systems, and equipment to uphold quality, reliability, and system safety standards for company or procured products and services; Performing Problem-Solving (PPS): Perform root cause analyses, recommends and supports implementation of corrective actions; Has the capability to work with the team and develop Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and control Plan; Provides review and analysis of quality system design; Analyzes contractual, product definition, and specification requirements to develop or modify methods, procedures, and metrics; Evaluates and provides dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts, and equipment; Conducts scientific evaluations, audits, and analyses; Tests and approves products, processes, equipment, and measurement systems; Ensures processes incorporate configuration management and participates in design and product reviews; Conducts research, benchmarking, and analysis to improve process capability and product quality; Performs root cause analyses and supports corrective action implementation; Interfaces with employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with requirements; Utilizes statistical methodologies to maintain or enhance safety, reliability, and process capability levels; Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited Engineering program; 3-5 years of experience in aerospace, quality, engineering or related role; Proficiency in technical writing; Proficient in root cause corrective action (RCCA); Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Ability to articulate complex issues to others; Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential; Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills; Current US work authorization; 5% domestic/international travel; Physical Requirements: 100% onsite, able to see and read computer screens and documents, able to hear safety warnings, able to speak in conversations and meetings, able to operate office equipment, able to carry/lift up to 30lbs/14kgs, able to push/pull small office furniture, able to sit for long periods, able to squat/kneel, able to stand for discussions, able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces, required PPE as specified
