Radiologic Technologist-Dansville Ortho

Responsible for producing high quality X-ray images by conducting exams in a safe and efficient manner. Verifies and follows referring providers' orders while remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences departmental policies. Possesses a sound understanding of human anatomy as well as x-ray positioning and the use of immobilization devices when warranted. Receives training as well as regular direct supervision or guidance from a more senior technologist to perform proficiency of the required tasks. Takes independent responsibility for performing general section studies in a safe and efficient manner, completing all associated paper and computer work while providing high quality images for radiologist interpretation.

Responsibilities

Responsible for producing high quality X-ray images by conducting exams in a safe and efficient manner; Verifies and follows referring providers' orders while remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences departmental policies; Possesses a sound understanding of human anatomy as well as x-ray positioning and the use of immobilization devices when warranted; Receives training as well as regular direct supervision or guidance from a more senior technologist to perform proficiency of the required tasks; Takes independent responsibility for performing general section studies in a safe and efficient manner; Prepares room and patient per order; Properly sets up equipment, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors; Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient identity and exam; Maintains appropriate supplies in X-ray rooms; Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices; Maintains accurate patient record keeping and ensures images sent to PACS; Completes and bills for studies accurately; May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities; Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience; CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist current NYS licensure upon hire required; ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with CE credits upon hire required
