Regional General Manager - West

8Fleet is a Los Angeles-based technology and logistics company building the operational infrastructure behind modern rideshare fleets, both autonomous and non-autonomous. It operates in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Atlanta, and Miami. The Regional General Manager, West is responsible for 8Fleet's operations and growth across the West, owns regional performance end to end, hires and leads the Market Managers, and supports new market launches. The role is based at the Los Angeles HQ and works in close contact with 8Fleet's founders and executive team.

Responsibilities

Own the performance of the region's markets from daily operations through the P&L; Lead, hire, and develop a team of Market Managers across the region; Support new market launches in the West as the region expands; Partner closely with other RGMs to share best practices and align on cross-regional priorities; Serve as the primary point of contact between the region and 8Fleet's founders/executive team; Own all financial and operational metrics across the region's markets; Oversee regional fleet operations, including driver scheduling, dispatch, and performance monitoring; Ensure vehicle maintenance and repair programs support optimal fleet utilization and safety; Partner with the Growth team to recruit, onboard, and retain a high-performing driver base; Analyze regional and market-level performance data to improve profitability and operational efficiency; Develop and implement cost-effective strategies to maximize regional fleet profitability; Set, monitor, and report on regional KPIs; Build and scale the Market Manager function within the region; Foster a positive, high-performance culture across all West markets; Establish regional best practices for driver support, training, and customer service standards; Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards across every market, including California state and local requirements; Oversee regular safety audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented

Requirements

6+ years of operations management, business consulting, or related experience managing multi-site or multi-market operations; 4+ years of experience managing managers, with a track record of hiring and developing strong operators; Goal focus with a strong bias toward action and comfort operating with ambiguity; Entrepreneurial hustle and proven self-starter with an owner's mentality; Data-driven mindset, strong business judgment, and proven ability to perform analysis, draw key insights, and form and execute strategy at a regional level; Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships, manage a distributed team, influence founders/execs, and inspire others; Excellent organization and time management; comfortable managing multiple markets and priorities simultaneously; Willingness to travel regularly between Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego

Nice to have

MBA or advanced degree; Experience with ridesharing platforms (Uber, Lyft); Prior experience at Uber, Lyft, or a comparable rideshare/mobility platform; Experience scaling established markets and launching new ones
