Registered Nurse (RN) FT Days - Float Pool - AH Mercy

This Float Pool role requires flexibility to float and provide nursing care across all inpatient units within the facility, based on operational and staffing needs. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Float to provide nursing care across all inpatient units within the facility based on operational and staffing needs; Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process; Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled communication; Engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives; Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team; Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely; Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation; Float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area as needed

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing; Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program; Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association; Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing; At least 6 months required experience to come in outside of the New Grad residency program; Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking; Time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; Proficiency in operating computer functions

Nice to have

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN); 1 year of inpatient nursing experience preferred
