Registered Nurse (RN)- Med Surg

The MedSurg unit is located on the 2nd floor and consists of 40 beds, though we typically care for no more than 28 patients at a time. Additionally, we manage an overflow unit on 4 East, which usually accommodates six patients and is staffed with two RNs providing primary care. The 2nd floor serves as the main MedSurg unit, caring for general medical-surgical patients, hospice patients, and telemetry patients who are medically appropriate for the unit. Our patient population primarily consists of older adults. Schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week, 1900-0730, 36 hours per week. BLS required and on-unit Tele training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures; Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication; Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing; Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association; Strong commitment to teamwork; Patient-centered mindset

Ability to interpret telemetry strips (education is provided)
