Registered Nurse RN Medical Surgical

Full-time night Registered Nurse position (7:00AM - 7:30PM) in the Medical Surgical 5A Unit at Banner Estrella Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona. The role assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice. Banner Estrella Medical Center is a 353-bed acute care hospital.

Responsibilities

Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; Formulate and revise the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family and multidisciplinary team; Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision; Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record; Provide care based on the best evidence available and participate in education, precepting and mentoring; Interact with physicians, staff, patients, families and external contacts concerning patient care

Requirements

Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice; BLS certification is required; Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice; Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area of work, as demonstrated through annual validations; Experience in the clinical area for which the candidate is applying is desired; Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting, including work in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area

Nice to have

Bachelor's degree preferred; Professional certification preferred; Additional related education and/or experience preferred
