Registered Nurse (RN) - One Day Surgery PACU PRN

Registered Nurse (RN) at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center One Day Surgery PACU in Charlotte, NC. This is a part-time PRN position with a Monday through Friday schedule, variable for PRN, no call, and no weekends. The PACU is a fast-paced nursing environment caring for a broad and dynamic surgical population, including GYN, GYN/Oncology, UroGYN, Robotic procedures, General Surgery, ENT, Orthopedic Trauma, Urology, Breast Oncology, Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery, and Pediatrics. The unit has a 14-bay Phase I area and a 13-bay Phase II area; nurses work in both phases providing immediate post-anesthesia recovery care and later-stage preparation for discharge.

Responsibilities

Work in both Phase I and Phase II PACU; Provide immediate post-anesthesia recovery care and later-stage preparation for discharge; Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures; Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and communication; Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing; Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association; ACLS required

Nice to have

At least one year of previous Critical Care, Emergency Department, or PACU experience strongly preferred for this position
