Research Analyst III

Guidehouse is seeking a Research Analyst III to support research and development activities for a federal client. This role will support research involving microbiological and chemical contaminants, including laboratory analysis, method development and validation, data analysis, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Support research and development activities, including laboratory and field-based research; Collect, prepare, process, and analyze samples; Conduct laboratory testing and analyses, including molecular detection and/or characterization of viruses and other microorganisms; Develop, optimize, and/or validate methods for the identification of pathogens; Document laboratory analyses, procedures, results, and observations; Prepare project reports and manuscripts for publication

Requirements

Master's degree in biology or a related field (biological science, microbiology, molecular biology, or biomedical sciences) with minimum 3+ years of experience OR bachelor's degree in biology or a related field with minimum 6+ years of experience; Experience conducting laboratory testing and analysis; Ability to document laboratory activities, analyze data, and support development of technical reports; Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust, with approved adjudication prior to onboarding; Active Public Trust or existing suitability is preferred

Nice to have

Experience analyzing food and environmental samples for extraction and detection of viral pathogens; Experience using real-time PCR instrumentation; Experience extracting RNA/DNA from samples; Experience performing molecular analyses; Experience applying aseptic techniques when performing molecular-based methods; FDA experience
