Respite Support Worker

At Care By Us (Part of the CCH Group), every day is different. We are currently looking for full-time and part-time Respite Support Workers to join our friendly, dedicated team across Hertfordshire. In this vital role, you will step in to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers. Your goal is to seamlessly maintain the service user's normal routine, ensuring their day-to-day living continues exactly as it would with their own family. You will be supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and autistic spectrum disorders, complex needs, mental health issues, and challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

Support adults with learning disabilities, autism and autistic spectrum disorders, complex needs, mental health issues, and challenging behaviours; Step in to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers; Seamlessly maintain the service user's normal routine; Provide family-style support, companionship, and emotional support; Assist with personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding; Support with cooking, meal preparation, laundry, and light housework; Encourage participation in hobbies and assist with community activities; Administer or assist with medication as directed by care plans

Requirements

A genuine desire to help others with patience, empathy, and compassion; Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations; A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle; The Right to Work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship)
