Restaurant & Bakery Host/Cashier

Provides friendly and efficient service to guests according to company policies, procedures, programs and performance standards. Performs all duties to maximize guest satisfaction and quality of work environment as directed by Manager on Duty. Controls the flow of business in the dining room so guests feel welcome and comfortable. Check out Guests at the register. Provides genuine hospitality to each guest ensuring their dining experience is highly satisfactory.

Responsibilities

Provides friendly and efficient service to guests according to company policies, procedures, programs and performance standards; Controls the flow of business in the dining room so guests feel welcome and comfortable; Checks out guests at the register; Provides genuine hospitality to each guest ensuring their dining experience is highly satisfactory; Opens the door as guests enter and leave; Uses greeting, seating and waiting list procedures; Seats guests in a friendly and timely manner in person or on telephone; Takes cash and asks guests about their meal and service; Offers specific suggestions for take-out bakery items and efficiently packages to-go orders; Ensures cashier area, bakery cases, displays, lobby, entryway, restrooms and dining room stay clean; Processes to-go orders; Assists servers with pre-bussing, sweeping floors, rolling silverware, restocking, and bussing tables; Keeps Manager on Duty informed of problems and proposes alternative solutions

Requirements

No experience required; Must be at least 16 years of age; Must have reliable transportation; Available to work Monday-Friday 8am-2pm including during the school year; Available to work holidays; No current felony charges or pending charges; Extensive standing and walking for up to 8 hours; Must be able to see at a distance (20) feet, at close range (12 inches), distinguish between shapes and utilize peripheral vision; Must be able to communicate clearly; Must have high level of mobility/flexibility; Must have time management skills; Must be able to read, write and perform addition/subtraction calculations; Must be able to control and utilize fingers; Must be able to fit through openings 30 inches wide; Must be able to work irregular hours under heavy pressure/stress; Bending, reaching, walking; Carrying trays of food products weighing about 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet; Lifting up to 50 pounds; Exposure to dish and cleaning chemicals
