Restaurant Server

Responsibilities

Report to work well-groomed, in clean and proper uniform, practicing good personal hygiene; Greet guests courteously and respectfully when seated at station; Take verbal drink and meal orders according to guest preference; Serve high quality food and check orders to ensure they are complete, prepared as ordered, portioned correctly, and attractive in appearance; Maintain cleanliness of stations and pantry; Perform side work during shift downtime, including rolling silverware, restocking, cleaning work stations, and bussing tables; Execute the service cycle and team responsibilities; Maintain sufficient knowledge of the menu to execute suggestive selling; Write guest checks and/or operate POS equipment pursuant to company policies; Anticipate, identify, and correct system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction; Ensure 100% guest satisfaction on every visit; Communicate with Manager on Duty and coworkers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment, and safety problems; Keep General Manager and Manager on Duty informed of problems/issues and propose alternative solutions

Requirements

Continuous standing and walking; Ability to communicate clearly with guests; Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold; Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2 1/2 - 3 feet; High level of mobility/flexibility in space provided; Must be able to fit through openings 30” wide; Ability to work irregular hours under heavy pressure/stress during busy times; Bending, reaching, walking; Eye/hand coordination; Must lift and carry serving trays or bus tubs up to 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet; Basic sanitation, safety, and customer service skills (can be taught through in-house training); Handyman knowledge and skills; No experience required
