Retail Pharmacy Manager

The Retail Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the day to day operations and services. The Retail Pharmacy Manager looks to optimize productivity and efficiency, maximize fiscal gains, minimize loss, improve quality, and achieve excellent pharmacy outcomes.

Responsibilities

Coordinates principal department operations, including committee functions; Manages operations, workflows, staff and pharmacy services of the assigned outpatient pharmacy area; Creates systems to measure performance and enhance productivity and quality; Performs all principal duties of a Pharmacist-In-Charge; Establishes and reviews department policies and procedures at least once a year; Achieves business goals and metrics for the pharmacy; Works with Director level pharmacy leadership to optimize profits, control expenses, develop the budget and perform month end financial reporting; Guides and oversees training of pharmacy staff; Assists in leading pharmacy team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance evaluation and progressive discipline; Conducts annual performance evaluations of pharmacy team; Ensures compliance with Federal and State laws, State Board of Pharmacy, California Department of Public Health, Joint Commission, Drug Enforcement Agency and 340B rules; Assists customers with insurance issues, including prior authorizations; Maintains pharmacy records, CURES information and controlled substance logs; Manages inventory, including cycle counting and annual physical inventory; Schedules staff to maximize patient care and minimize fiscal impact; Leads departmental meetings and in-services

Requirements

Current California Registered Pharmacist license; One year of pharmacy management experience or like experience

Nice to have

Master's degree in Business Administration; Pharm D. degree; Equivalent retail experience
