Retail Specialist

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a full-time Retail Specialist to join our team at our Papago Park Campus! This position offers a consistent five-day work week with a schedule of 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM. As the Retail Specialist, you'll support the Arizona Humane Society's three pet-centered retail stores while creating a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for adopters, pet owners, and members of the community. In this role, you'll greet and assist customers, recommend products to meet their needs, and help achieve sales goals, personal goals and department goals. You'll also maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked retail environment, assist with inventory and cash handling, answer customer inquiries by phone and online, support and train retail volunteers.

Responsibilities

Requirements

High school diploma/GED; 2+ years of retail experience, including inventory assistance, stocking, facing, and product knowledge; Ability to anticipate customer needs and recommend merchandise to customers; Excellent communication skills and ability to resolve issues effectively; Understanding of retail and cash handling operations; Must be comfortable working around animals; Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours at a time; Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Knowledge of point of sale and word processing software programs
