Manages individualized, outcome oriented nursing care through the use of the nursing process. Provides care, treatment and services through the successful coordination and completion of a series of processes that include assessment, planning care, providing care, in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures

Responsibilities

Manages individualized, outcome oriented nursing care through the use of the nursing process; Provides care, treatment and services through coordination and completion of processes including assessment, planning care, providing care; Administers, transcribes, and records medications following SSH policies; Completes medication reconciliation; Develops, evaluates, and updates individualized plan of care; Initiates admission assessment within 8 hours of admissions and documents teaching needs; Documents patient care following nursing policy and unit standards; Assesses and documents patient's level of comfort and response to interventions; Communicates plan of day via whiteboard updating every shift; Facilitates discharge/transfer by goal of 12:00pm; Verifies patient identification with two identifiers prior to invasive procedures; Complies with CDC hand hygiene guidelines and universal precautions; Ensures environment meets regulatory requirements; Obtains at least 5 contact hours per year in area of practice; Practices within legal boundaries of MA Nurse Practice Act; Utilizes technological solutions and software applications; Safeguards privacy and security of patient information; Conveys respect for patient and family values; Possesses age and cultural knowledge and awareness

Requirements

RN - Registered Nurse; Depending on department Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Emergency Response Training Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Certification may be required
