Security Shift Supervisor - Chicago, IL

The Security Shift Supervisor oversees daily security operations, access control, shift safety routines, and emergency response across the tower, multi-level valet parking facilities, and sprawling outdoor plaza areas. Managing standard operations alongside a high-volume public footprint, the Shift Supervisor maintains a visible, professional guard force ensuring physical security, life safety compliance, and operational excellence for a flagship downtown asset. Located along the north bank of the Chicago River at the gateway to the Magnificent Mile, this landmark 35-story, 737,000+ RSF Class A high-rise is one of downtown Chicago's most high-profile commercial properties. Schedule: Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily security operations, access control, shift safety routines, and emergency response; Lead, direct, and motivate on-duty security officers to ensure adherence to company policies, post orders, and safety guidelines; Manage a team of security officers, including participating in scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, development and support; Ensure the Client Site is provided with high quality security services to protect people and property; Handle all escalated security issues or emergency situations appropriately; Develop staff through performance management; Assist in coordinating and/or conducting site-specific, client-specific and annual refresher training; Reconcile logs, shift responsibilities and patrols; review incident reports and coordinate preliminary investigations; Develop/maintain operational procedures and post orders; Maintain access control procedures set by building management; Effectively utilize access control, visitor management and CCTV systems; Identify tenants and/or visitors upon arrival; Ensure visitors and vendors are properly signed in; Observe departing personnel to guard against theft; Monitor security cameras; Respond to incidents including property emergencies; Conduct general patrols of the property; Assist tenants and visitors with directions and general business information; Record property damage, unusual occurrences, and equipment malfunctions; Maintain clear, accurate logs; Provide excellent customer service; Other duties as assigned

Requirements

At least 2 years of continuous supervisory experience; High School diploma or GED; 3 years prior satisfactory employment as a security officer or directly related experience; At least 18 years of age; Valid Security License if required by state; Driver's license as applicable; Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check; Must maintain a working telephone number; Ability to stand for extended periods of time; Ability to lift, push, and/or pull at least 50 lbs.; Ability to accommodate foot patrols on the interior and exterior of the facility; Ability to perform assigned duties regardless of inclement weather
