SEND Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting Special Needs Teaching Assistants to work on a full-time and part-time basis, supporting students with SEND needs. We have full-time and part-time SEND Teaching Assistant opportunities in schools supporting children and young people with a range of learning and development needs including Autism, PMLD and Behavioural Needs (SEMH).

Responsibilities

Supporting students with SEND needs; supporting students across a range of learning and development activities; building relationships quickly and establishing routines; communicating clearly and integrating pupils' interests; providing personal care support including feeding and physical support alongside developmental activities; supporting students to develop day-to-day and academic skills; helping build self-esteem and regulate emotions

Requirements

Enhanced DBS certificate; 2 references covering the past two years; caring, dedicated and professional approach; adaptable and confident attitude; ability to build relationships quickly; establish routines with a consistent approach; communicate clearly in suitable ways; integrate pupil's interests; ability to commit to full-time or part-time positions (8.30am to 4.00pm Mon-Fri) for the full academic year

Nice to have

understanding of SEN; previous experience supporting children or adults in a care setting; healthcare/social care worker; youth worker; community support worker
