Senior Counsel - Commercial Legal

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. As Commercial Counsel for Waymo, you will be responsible for negotiating and closing commercial agreements to help drive the business forward. In this hybrid role, you will report to a Managing Counsel.

Responsibilities

Review, draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, with a focus on agreements with OEMs for the development of vehicle programs, vehicle supply, aftermarket services; respond promptly to legal requests from vehicle partnerships, supply chain, product, engineering, sourcing, business development, finance, marketing, and other clients; advise business and cross functional stakeholders on legal issues including product liability, regulatory issues, agreement structures and approval processes, company policies and procedures, IP, and negotiation strategy; support the continuous improvement of Waymo and the legal department by identifying and implementing improvements in processes, forms and operations

Requirements

JD degree and must be admitted to the bar in which position is located and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law; 10+ years of experience advising on commercial agreements; experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, vehicle manufacture/supply agreements, licenses, supply chain agreements and services agreements; experience in another specialist subject area of law; excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure; ability and interest in developing expertise in new, complex subject areas; willingness to travel up to 15%

Experience drafting and negotiating agreements for the development, manufacture and supply of vehicle platforms; experience with agreements related to service/maintenance of vehicles
