Senior DevOps Engineer - GCP

Responsibilities

Build and improve compute platforms (Compute Engine, managed instance groups, GKE, container runtimes); Implement and enhance GCP networking components (VPCs, peering, Private Service Connect, Cloud DNS, load balancing); Contribute to secure and scalable network topologies across environments; Implement agreed platform patterns and standards for compute and networking; Deliver platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred); Improve automation and CI/CD pipelines for platform changes; Work with senior engineers to improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency; Participate in incident response and post-incident improvements; Work alongside senior platform engineers and architects on design and rollout; Support application teams consuming compute and networking capabilities; Contribute documentation, examples, and runbooks; Provide pragmatic feedback to help evolve platform standards over time, including incident response and SLO ownership

Requirements

3–7+ years experience in cloud or platform engineering; Hands-on production experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP); Strong understanding of cloud compute and networking fundamentals; Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred); Familiarity with GCP networking primitives (VPCs, firewall rules, private connectivity); Comfortable operating Linux-based workloads

Nice to have

Experience with other cloud providers (AWS, Azure); Exposure to GKE or Kubernetes in production; Familiarity with multi-project or landing zone–style setups; Experience in high-availability or security-conscious environments
