Senior Django Developer

We are looking for a Senior Python Django Developer who has been involved in a wide range of impactful projects and knows how to help clients achieve their goals at scale.

Responsibilities

Handle projects from concept to delivery, proactively identifying risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement; Play a key role in shaping architecture, improving internal processes, and ensuring high-quality standards; Mentor junior and mid-level developers, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical leadership; Collaborate closely with front-end developers, designers, and external partners in integrated sprint teams; Explain complex technical decisions in clear, accessible language to technical and non-technical stakeholders; Identify, evaluate, and implement solutions aligned with client needs, technical constraints, and long-term sustainability

Requirements

a minimum of 6 years of Python backend web development experience; Strong experience with Django; Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable APIs consumed by multiple third parties; Experience with complex system integrations across multiple external vendors; Experience with Git and modern development workflows; Solid understanding of database design, optimisation, and administration; Strong experience with testing and quality assurance (unit, integration, etc.); Ability to own projects end-to-end, from planning through to delivery and support; Experience identifying issues early and proactively suggesting improvements to internal processes and workflows; Confidence to challenge assumptions, contribute to technical discussions, and collaborate with external teams and vendors; Experience mentoring junior and mid-level developers, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical leadership across projects; A team-player mindset with strong initiative and leadership qualities; Working proficiency in English

Nice to have

Agency or product environment experience preferred; Experience with Wagtail CMS (or similar CMS platforms) is a plus
